This walk is part of CBC's Super week of Walks celebrating the 40th year of Namadgi National Park, the Canberra Bushwalking Club and bushwalking in general.

This is an easy, but longish walk to Horse Gully Hut and returning the same way in the Naas Valley. It’s about 18kms return and is a classic Namadgi National Park Walk in the southernmost part of the park which starts from the Mount Clear Campground. We will stay on the wide fire trial which follows Naas Creek through sections of woodland, forest and open grassland over many undulating hills. There are also three crossings of Naas Creek where you will get your feet wet (up to almost your knees), so bring along a spare pair of socks if you wish.
The Naas Valley to Horse Gully Hut walk is also part of the Bicentennial National Trail, a 5,330 kilometre long, marked walking trail from Cooktown to Healesville. The Bicentennial National Trail passes through Canberra, skirting the outer suburbs before heading through Namadgi National Park and crossing into Kosciuszko National Park.
