The bushwalk starts on the North Black Range Fire Trail in Tallaganda National Park. We will follow a meandering 10-kilometre circuit in trackless bushland, and link up eight small swamps that are part of the montane peatlands and swamps ecological community. We will traverse large areas of magnificent tall open-forest that is in good condition, despite being impacted by the 2019 bushfire.
The swamps are full after several wet years, so we will get wet feet crossing some of them. The walk is weather dependent as the forest access track needs to be dry. The walk is in the same area as the trip on Tuesday 23rd April, but the route differs. The trip is suitable for bushwalkers experienced with off-track walking in rough terrain.
