WEDNESDAY WALK - M/H BBC SPONSORED, 1 May

Cathedral Rocks I am sending this notice out early because I will be away over the weekend. If you need to contact me, please send an SMS but I may not be able to respond until Monday. Leader: Prue Deacon (0487 388 959 - SMS; after Monday, prue.deacon@ozemail.com.au). Starting from the Orroral Campground we climb up a very steep fire trail roughly north for about 2.5 km. Morning tea with views into the valley. We then climb off-track to peak 1316 before descending to Cathedral Rocks, a major rocky outcrop overlooking the Orroral Tracking Station site. After lunch and time to explore we descend to the valley and return to the cars following the river on grassland until we join the Heritage Walking Trail back to the campground. Some difficult scrub and rocky sections - gloves, gaiters/long pants and eye protection recommended. Distance: 10km. Climb: 450m. BBC level: Medium (10). Map: Rendezvous Creek. Weather forecast: Cloudy, min 4, max 18 Meeting point: Kambah Village shops (Marconi Cres, opposite petrol station). Be ready to leave at 8.30 am. Cars: 80km ($11) Those doing their first Medium/Hard Wednesday walk and also prospective walkers who are not members of the BBC, NPA or CBC clubs must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
