**Bookings not required for Wed walks.** LIGHTHOUSE CREEK Leader: Peter Dalton (0414363255). The walk starts from near the far end of Woolcara Lane in Yanununbeyan NP (about 1 hour drive from Queanbeyan). We climb and then descend about 100 m through unburnt dry bushland for 3 km, at which point we come to the creek. We then rock-hop in or beside the creek bed upstream (there’ll be very little water in it) for about 4.5 km until we hit the NP boundary. From here it’s around 4 km back to the cars through undulating terrain and a final descent. Long pants, gaiters and gloves are recommended. This walk is rated 9 on the BBC scale, which is in the middle of the range of the medium grading. Distance: 13 km Climb: 550 m Cars: 80 km ($10 per passenger). Map: Captains Flat. Forecast (for Canberra): 2-17 degrees and very little chance of rain. Meet at the Spotlight Car Park, Queanbeyan, 6-8 Bungendore Rd (aka Kings Highway) for an 8.00 am departure.
