Bookinmgs not required for Wed Walks. Upper Orroral Valley - 15 km Leader: Peter Wellman (6288 5985). This is a walk along grasslands of the open upper Orroral Valley. We start at the picnic area of the old radio tracking station and walk on the Orroral Valley Circuit foot track to the Smokers Trail then back. The walk is about 4 hours duration. The grasslands are still looking fine, and this walk is an opportunity to do this seldom done easy walk before it gets too hot. Total climb is 140 m. Map: Corin Dam. Cars: 90 km ($13). Meet at Kambah Village shopping centre car park (corner Drakeford Drive and Marconi Crescent, opposite the petrol service station), leaving at 8:30 am. The maximum temperature on the walk should be about 4oC less than that in Canberra, so on the walk it may have a high of 20oC. Those doing their first Wednesday walk and also prospective walkers who are not members of either the NPA, BBC or CBC clubs must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
