Part-day, Walk

Weather permitting - enjoy a moonlit walk in Majura and Ainslie Reserves. Starting from Antill Street, we'll admire the afternoon light on trees as we follow the main path up towards the seat (at the junction that leads up to the towers). Heading south we make a short detour off trail to get a nice vantage point looking west back over the Canberra Suburbs and then rejoin the trail continuing further along to a nice vantage point to admire the moon rise at 7.12pm. (Very close to a full moon!) Here we will share snacks and treats, whilst admiring the moon rise. We then continue down the zig-zag path, and join a foot pad through the forest towards the lower dams. Then, via the Powerline Tracks, Old Tsr Track, Cherryburn Trail, and a foot pad through the forest we loop back to the seat (at the junction that leads up to the tower) and then down to our cars. This walk is along formed paths, well defined foot pads, and undulating fire trails with one very short section off trail. A bit of huff and puff involved! With sunset at 7.47pm, part of this walk will be under moonlight. Enjoy the night sounds and surrounds! Torch/headlamp essential.
