Super Week of Walks #2 - Mt Namadgi
Tue 08th Oct 2024
This walk is part of CBC's Super week of Walks celebrating the 40th year of Namadgi National Park, the Canberra Bushwalking Club and bushwalking in general.
What better way to celebrate the 40th year of Namadgi National Park than by visiting the mountain that shares its name (image - Craig L.). From Yankee Hat car park walk the Gudgenby grasslands to cross Middle Creek and then handrail it upwards to set up camp at Big Creamy Flats. Day 2 begins with an early start for a morning ascent of Mt Namadgi. After returning to camp, the walk out is the reverse of Day 1.
The route involves all off-track walking including rough ground and moderate scrub and is only suited to pack-walkers experienced with these conditions.
