North Black Range, Tallaganda National Park
Tue 23rd Apr 2024
Walk
The walk is in the superb tall forests on the North Black Range, which is on the crest of The Great Dividing Range. In the morning we'll go to a beautiful outcrop of pink granite boulders, which we named 'Lyrebird Rocks' on a previous visit. The walk then becomes exploratory as we traverse an area of tall brown barrel trees, with perhaps additional granite outcrops hidden under the canopy. In the afternoon we'll visit some interesting wetlands and rocky knolls. Most of the day is off-track, and the area was impacted by the 2019-2020 bushfires, to varying degrees.
A walk or similar activity with a duration of a day or part day. No overnight gear required.
