Morning E-M walk: Hall Village to One-Tree Hill, on the Canberra Centenary Trail (CCT)

Sat 06th Apr 2024

Cancelled

Part-day, Walk, Social

Join us for a morning walk on the Canberra Centenary Trail, from Hall Village to One-Tree Hill, return.

Gently meandering along the high ground on the ACT-NSW northern border, this walk offers great glimpses over the new suburbs of Gungahlin, right across the city and out to the ranges beyond.

At One-Tree Hill lookout (which is virtually bisected by the NSW-ACT border), we'll stop for morning tea. An interpretation panel discusses the siting, surveying, and development of the Australian Capital Territory (it's more interesting than it possibly sounds). There are also some benches on which to rest and admire the view.

This part of the CCT is a popular cycling track, and although it's generally wide enough to accommodate walkers and bikes moving in both directions, and we'll be walking fairly early, it's still important to pay attention for riders on the trail.
