This is an overnight hike, ideal for those wanting to try out backpacking for the first time. If you haven't got the gear, you can hire from the Club.
Starting from David Brayshaws Hut Carpark on Boboyan Road, walk 2km to Westermans Hut. We will set up tents, have afternoon tea and enjoy the surroundings, with the option of walking back to Brayshaws Hut at sunset to take photos. Or bring a book, knitting, drawing...
Next day, we pack up and take all our gear with us, walk NW along a section of the border on Grassy Creek Fire Trail, leaving it for a short distance to cross the border, head east and find our way to Waterhole Hut for a lunch break. We will then follow the Settlers Track back to Brayshaws Hut.
Total distance: 17km.
