Join the Banks Steep Track under Big Monks by climbing up the creek above the flood mitigation dam and then a handy open spur. Use fire trails to summit Mt Rob Roy. Descend west to the open grasslands and Rob Roy falls. Return north via pleasant knolls to ‘Little Monks’ and Big Monks for sweeping views. A final steep plunge off the high point to the edge of suburban Banks completes the circuit. Around 12km and 750vm.
A combined CBC/NPA trip rated M/M and 3AB. Limit 6 walkers from each club.
