Kowmung River, Blue Mountains NSW
Drive to Kanangra Friday afternoon/evening for the three day Canberra Day weekend. Descend to the Kowmung River via Cambage Spire. Walk downstream through Bulga Denis Canyon (no abseiling) to Orange Bfuff. Return to Kanangra Walls via Brumby Ridge and Gingra Range. Tracks on the ridges, some rock-scrambling and deep wading or possibly swimming along the river, some grassy banks. This is arguably the most beautiful section of the Kowmung with great swimming pools and lovely campsites. Wear sandshoes or runners with good grip - boots not suitable. Also on the program of the Coast and Mountain Walkers of NSW.
