Easy-Medium Wednesday Walk #2 - Murrumbidgee Discovery Track

Description: This is an out and back walk along the Murrumbidgee Discovery Track. We’ll start at Casuarina Sands and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river on a gently undulating track. We will stop at a few vantage points before reaching our turn around point at the Knoll Lookout at about the 6km mark. Distance: 13 km. Elevation gain: 300 m.

Distance: 13 kms

Ascent/Descent: 250 m

Grading: Medium/Easy (CBC), 6 (BBC)

Track Description: All on trails, no off-track. Generally gentle hill ascents and descents with a few gravelly sections.

Meeting Time: 8.50 am for a 9:00 am start.

Meeting Place: Meet at the Dillon Close carpark adjacent to the Weston Tennis Courts (across the road from MacDonalds Weston)

Transport: Meet at Dillon Close then carpool from there to Casuarina Sands Picnic Area. 28 km round trip. $4 per passenger.

Weather for next Wednesday: As of Friday afternoon, 8C to 26C. A shower or two. 0-6mm rain.

What to Bring: Day-pack, hat, sunscreen, 2 litres of water, morning tea and lunch. Walking poles if you use them.
