Medium-Hard Wednesday Walk, 5th August, The Pimple via Mt Tidbinbilla (BBC)

Grade 11-12 BBC, Long/Medium CBC

This is a long and steep walk with great views but with a number of steep climbs and a short distance off track. We climb steeply up a track to Snowy Corner (500vm) after which the trail becomes less steep to Mt Tidbinbilla. At Mt Tidbinbilla, if we have time, we will go SW off track to a rocky area hopefully with views (this is exploratory - about 500m with a descent of 50 metres). We then go back to Mt Tidbinbilla before preceding to the Pimple on track and then back to Mountain Ck carpark via Tidbinbilla Peak.

This will be a long day with an early start. Gaiters, gloves and eye protection recomended. Walking poles can be helpful for going downhill.

This is a tough walk for fit walkers who have done similar walks before. If you have not, please contact the leader.

Leaving Kambah Village car park, Marconi Cres, at 8 am sharp.
Weather at present for Wednesday is forecast to be -2 to 15 and fine in Canberra. It will be significantly colder on the high ridge.

Suggested transport costs have not been posted by the leader but are likely to be of the order of $10 per passenger.
