M-H Wednesday Walk (BBC sponsored): Rocks above Nursery Swamp

From the Nursery Swamp car park in the Orroral Valley, we follow the track to the saddle and then down to the end of the track at Nursery Swamp. We cross the swamp and then climb off-track approximately N up through thick scrub to a rock slab with lovely views across to Nursery Hill and beyond. After having lunch and time to explore along ridge there is a descent from the end of the slab down the hill to return to the cars.

The swamp might be very wet after the rain, so expect wet boots OR bring garbags to keep your boots dry if we have to wade through. The scrub is thick in places so long pants /gaiters and gloves are needed for the off-track section.

Distance: 13 km. Climb: about 400m. BBC level: Medium 9 to 10.
