E-M Wednesday Walk (BBC led): Spring Creek circuit – Yanununbeyan National Park

Starting from near the junction of Woolcara Lane and Spring Creek Trail we head east for 4 km, generally following the high ground. This is mostly open forest with some brief but annoying sections of thick scrub. We then go south to meet Spring Creek and follow it for about 4.5 km back to the cars. We’ll be walking and rock-hopping in the mostly dry creek bed, but will have to leave it occasionally to get around the few remaining large pools, one of which I tested for depth and quality during my recce. This walk is all off-track and while only 9 km it will take about 6 hours to complete.
450 m climb; Grade: BBC 10 (top end of medium).

Meet at Spotlight Queanbeyan car park, 6-8 Bungendore Rd (aka Kings Highway) for an 8 am departure.
