Mt Solitary in the Blue Mountains is the large mountain across the valley you can see from the Three Sisters lookout (Look at the photo).

We will be doing a 3 day, 2 night walk with the aim of camping on top of Mount Solitary for 1 night and in the valley the other night. Mt Solitary may be a dry camp, so you will need to carry 3-4 litres of water. Intention is to see Ruined Castle, Mt Solitary, Chinaman's Gully, the Kedumba River Valley.

I have not done this walk before, but while the distances are not high, it rates as hard, so you will need to be fit, well prepared, and ready to deal with some climbing and rock scrambling, and remember that this will be the start of winter, and below freezing temperatures and snow are both a (slim) possibility.
