Easy/Medium Wednesday Walk #2 Over Bullen Range To Kambah Pool (BBC)

From the Tidbinbilla Tracking Station we climb a lightly wooded spur to reach the Bullen Range Fire Trail. A little further north we take a similar steepish spur east, dropping down to a knoll overlooking Kambah Pool. We do not go down to river level but stay high and follow the river north for good views. After crossing a couple of steep gullies we then reach a fire trail that takes us back over the range and a return to the cars. Nice unspoilt forest, mostly off-track walking which we'll take slowly and carefully.

Distance: 8 km. Climb: 460m. BBC Rating of 8. You may consider bringing poles for the steeper sections, also gaiters for potentially long grass.

Meeting Time: 8.20am for an 8.30am departure

Meeting Place: Kambah Village Shopping Centre car park opposite the service station.

Transport: Distance 65km ($9 per passenger).
Alternatively: Meet at Tidbinbilla Tracking Station car park at 9am (no need to tell the leader beforehand).
