Family adventure walk to Legoland

Legoland is a wonderful complex of giant granite boulders about 15 minutes drive past Honeysuckle Creek campground in Namadgi NP. This walk is designed for active families with kids aged 5 and upwards - though toddlers in back packs will also enjoy it. The walk also has enough interest for kids in their teens. The track to Legoland is 1 km each way, with some uneven sections but no big hills. At Legoland we will set up base in a wind-sheltered dip among gum trees between the boulders. Younger children may prefer to stay there, exploring small boulders. Others can follow the leader who has checked out three circuits of about 100 metres each, that weave through cracks, tunnels and caves before returning to base. Each child will need to be within sight of their parent or their responsible adult at all times; if your child wishes to do any of the circuits, that means at least one adult in your family will need to be flexible enough to scramble over large boulders and crawl through gaps. After lunch we will return the same way to the cars. Note that the drive of approx 1 hour from Canberra includes 15 minutes dirt road, which is best done in AWD/4WD. Please discuss with the leader beforehand if you plan to drive a 2WD. We will meet in Tharwa and then drive in convoy.
