Exploratory walk to Peppercorn Creek waterfalls
Wed 10th Dec 2025
Bookings available to active members only.
Where Peppercorn Creek drops off the northern end of Long Plain in Kosciuszko NP, there are four waterfalls marked on the map, and a few more on some side creeks. Day 1: after a 4 hour drive, walk in about 6 km, partly fire trail, partly tussocky grass, maybe some forest. Find a campsite, probably near the junction of Peppercorn & Little Peppercorn Creeks. Day 2, with day packs, head down Peppercorn Creek to the waterfalls and back, around 9 km, down and up 250 metres. Day 3: walk out. As a 'recce', this trip will likely involve some pottering and some backtracking. Uphill pace will be moderate. The walk will require both patience and the ability to deal with whatever the terrain throws at us.
