SUMMARY:Exploratory walk to Peppercorn Creek waterfalls

DESCRIPTION:Where Peppercorn Creek drops off the northern end of Long Pl
 ain in Kosciuszko NP, there are four waterfalls marked on the map, and a
  few more on some side creeks. Day 1: after a 4 hour drive, walk in abou
 t 6 km, partly fire trail, partly tussocky grass, maybe some forest. Fin
 d a campsite, probably near the junction of Peppercorn & Little Pepperco
 rn Creeks. Day 2, with day packs, head down Peppercorn Creek to the wate
 rfalls and back, around 9 km, down and up 250 metres. Day 3: walk out. A
 s a 'recce', this trip will likely involve some pottering and some backt
 racking. Uphill pace will be moderate. The walk will require both patien
 ce and the ability to deal with whatever the terrain throws at us.
