MEDIUM/HARD WEDNESDAY WALK - MOUNT COREE OFF-TRACK CIRCUIT (NPA)

From Curries and Pabral Roads junction, we climb upwards through lovely forest to the top of Mount Coree, where we will be rewarded with great all-around views of Namadgi and Brindabella NPs. We then follow a faint and partly overgrown footpad along the ACT-NSW border, before descending through the bush to Curries Rd. A few km on Curries Rd brings us back to the cars.

This walk has several steep sections, both uphill and downhill. There is mostly light to medium scrub, loose rock underfoot in places, and a few steep, rocky outcrops to negotiate around. Gaiters or long pants are recommended, especially for the stinging nettles on the downhill section! Carry plenty of water.

Weather: Weather forecasts for Wednesday have been variable of late. On Saturday, the BOM forecast for Canberra is - 50% chance of 1 mm of rain (25% chance of 5mm) and temperatures between 13 to 27 degrees.

NOTE: If the forecast deteriorates in the coming days, the walk will be cancelled.
