CBC: WEDNESDAY WALK. CORK OAK PLANTATION TO BLACK MOUNTAIN CIRCUIT
Wed 12th Nov 2025
Bookings available to active members only.
NO BOOKINGS REQUIRED FOR WEDNESDAY WALKS
This m/e walk will be on a combination of bush tracks, firetrails and bike paths. We'll commence the walk at the carpark of the Cork Oak Plantation in the Arboretum, proceed through the plantation and follow the Centenary Trail under William Hovell Drive into the Aranda woodlands and flora reserve. From there down to the Caswell Drive Underpass and a steep bush track up to Black Mtn. We will take lunch here and ponder why this outstanding landmark has been left unloved and unopen for years. Returning to the cars via a steep firetrail on the southside of the tower, to pick up the bike paths under Caswell Drive, etc and back through the cork oaks. Should be back to the cars no later than 2pm.
