NEW ZEALAND - Abel Tasman Coastal Track and the Heaphy Track.

Located in the northern Tasman region of the South Island, the Abel Tasman Coastal Track and the Heaphy tracks are on the official list of “Top Ten Great Walks of New Zealand”. Both are close to the town of Nelson and this is where we will be basing our stay. Both walks are full pack, tent camping (NOT staying in any huts), so experienced multi day hikers with reasonable fitness, camping experience and all of the necessary equipment may join.
The Abel Tasman Coastal Track is about 60kms with 5 days of walking (12 km/day average). The Heaphy Track is about 80kms of walking over 5 days (16 km/day). We will have a rest day in Nelson in between both walks.
I have already made reservations for all camp sites and shuttle bus transport for eight walkers for both walks. Cost of the camping fees and bus transports for the walks is about $550 pp. Other costs include air fares and accomodation in Nelson.
