Join me for a little bit of huff and puff at Black Mountain Reserve on a 6km loop, followed by a 1 hour guided 'What is it about Wattles?' walk at the Botanic Gardens.
Following a combination of fire trails and small tracks, we initially follow the Botanic Gardens fire trail to link up with the Bushland Nature Walk to visit a viewing platform offering lovely views out to Lake Burley Griffith and Parliamentary Triangle. Then, with a little bit of huff and puff, continue on the narrow footpad uphill, join the Lake View fire trail and with a bit more huff and puff, head further uphill, crossing Black Mountain Drive, to reach another look out spot. We then follow the ‘Hat Band/ Forest Loop' track around the western side, before heading back to our starting point via the main summit trail. Then, we head into the Botanic Gardens to join a lovely guided walk at 11am and learn all about Wattles. Great opportunity to ask those puzzling questions about Wattles!
Please book on Bilby. I have liaised with Friends of ANBG for a group of 10.
