
Schlink Hut, Tin Hut and Disappointment Ridge (Snowshoe)

NOTE CHANGE OF DATES: A three-day circuit, snowshoeing in the back country of KNP. The intended route aims to snowshoe some high ridge lines, with overnight snow camping at Schlink Hut and Tin Hut (pictured).
Day 1: From the Guthega Power Station at Munyang, follow the Schlink trail upwards to Schlink Hut.
Day 2: Up to the high point on Kerries Ridge before following the ridge line south for the short distance to Gungartan Pass. Then it is across to Tin Hut to set up camp. After lunch, an afternoon side trip to visit Mt Porcupine and its northern ridge.
Day 3: A long day to finish. After a bag of Gungartan, the objective is to shoe the crest of Disappointment Ridge back down to Munyang.
A trip only suitable for participants with previous experience in multi-day activities during winter in the mountains.

Transport information
Provided to booked walkers after bookings close. Car-pooling from south Canberra: $180 per car plus park entry fees.

Camping outside the huts. A 3-4 season tent and camping gear suitable for alpine conditions down to minus 10C.
