Bookings not required for Wed walks. Mt Domain via Ashbrook Fire Trail Leader: Phillip Hope (0405 916 004). This walk includes an off-track section from Ashbrook Fire Trail to a saddle below Mt Domain. There is a 500m climb (over 2km) through some rather thick bush initially before reaching the saddle below Mt Domain and onto the usual track to the summit with great views. Returning via Fishing Gap on track. This is a hard medium walk. Gaiters and gloves are needed, poles for the return on track would be useful. Walk starts from Hanging Rock car park in Tidbinbilla. Distance: 15km Climb: 700m. BBC level Medium (11). Map: Tidbinbilla. Weather forecast (for Canberra): min 2 max 12, slight chance of a shower (it could be much colder on Mt Domain - make sure you have warm clothes and some extra snacks) Meeting point: Kambah Village shops (Marconi Cres, opposite petrol station). Be ready to leave at 8.00 am. Cars: 70 km ($10 per passenger) This a harder walk suitable for fit off-track walkers who are members of the BBC, NPA or CBC clubs.
