McQuoids Hill and Cooleman Ridge Nature Reserves

Starting at McQuoids Hill Nature Reserve, Kambah Pool Road, we'll meander up McQuoids Hill. The decent on the fire trail is steep, dry, littered with leaf matter and rocks, the safer option is to go off track down a gully on the north side of the hill walking on grasslands. At the bottom of the hill we'll walk McQuoids trail (part of the Bicentennial National Trail) going around Mt Neighbour and through some horse paddocks until we get to the junction of McQuoids, Cooleman Ridge and Dempster Fire Trails. Sticking to the Bicentennial National Trail well take the Cooleman Ridge Fire Trail option until we get to Little Reservoir Fire Trail. After a short climb up this fire trail there will be an opportunity to enjoy the views of the Bullen Range, Tuggeranong Valley and beyond as there's perfect spot not far from the reservoir for morning tea.(4.5 star rating = view + plenty of rocks to sit on 😉). The return leg will be along Cooleman Ridge, quick visit to the trig, then back to the start via Arrawang and Mt Neighbour horse paddocks.
