Exploration in Guula Ngurra National Park
Sun 28th Jul 2024
Guula Ngurra, a relatively new national park, is around 2 and a half hours drive from Canberra near Berrima. The name means Koala Country, so hopefully there are a few around.
An exploratory walk, we will leave Canberrra around 8.00 am, arrive at the park by 10.30am, before climbing Baldy Billy Peak for morning tea.
We will then head down to the Wollondilly river for lunch, before returning to the cars, hopefully by 2.30, and back to Canberra by 5.00pm.
Reviews suggest the track down to the river is rough, steep and involves scrambling. If it is obviously too big a job, we will return to the cars early, and instead climb nearby Mt Penang, or have lunch where we end up.
