**No bookings required for joint club Wednesday Walks** Western foreshore of Googong Dam - Easy/medium walk Wednesday 1 May 2024 Leader: Kathy Handel, contact: 0447289638, khandel@bigpond.net.au Description: Walk from the Foreshores car park along the Shoreline Walk to Shannons Inlet, then up a steep hill on fire trail. Continue south along an inland grassy track and then off-track to a high viewpoint. Work our way down to Wells Inlet (a walking pole might be useful) and continue to a headland for lunch. Return on fire trail and the Shoreline Walk. The lake shore and headlands are very scenic when the lake is full. Meeting place: Foreshores carpark, Googong Dam (near Drumstick Point). Note: Google incorrectly directs you to the Tin Hut carpark. Time: 9:00am Transport cost: nil Weather forecast: 3 to 18 degrees, mostly sunny. Terrain: track, fire trail and grassy/rough slopes. Grading: Easy/medium (9), distance 15km, climb 380m. Maps: Hoskinstown 1:25,000; Googong Foreshores Map and Guide. Reminders: Bring sufficient water, lunch, footwear for off-track, rain jacket, warm/windproof clothing. Prospective walkers who are not members of the BBC, NPA or CBC must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk. Non Club members must also be sponsored and accompanied by a club member.
