Wednesday Walk - Settlers Track - Southern Namadgi - CBC Sponsored
This interesting and very easy 11km walk in the extreme south of the ACT is well worth the longer than usual drive. The walk starts from the historic (1903) Brayshaw’s Hut (loo) and proceeds westward on a well-maintained track to Waterhole Hut, southwards through open forest to the Grassy Creek fire trail which we follow eastwards to Westerman’s Homestead (another loo) and then on the slightly hilly but wonderful footpad back to Brayshaw’s and the cars. Driving distance is 65km and time just over an hour each way; walking time and breaks is about is about 4 hours. Meeting time and place: Kambah Village Shops, leaving at 8.15 a.m. Please arrive early enough to allow the leader to record your contact details and to process your acknowledgement of any risks.
