Family and friends of Stan Marks will gather for the scattering of his ashes at Mulligans Flat. A 5km return walk will start from the car park at Amy Ackman Street, Forde (opposite Cleggett Street) at 9.00 am, to Stan's Rock. The small off-track granite Rock bears a plaque honouring Stan's leadership of 820 Club walks. It is on higher ground with a pleasant view to the Brindabellas, and could be a stopping point, for some, on future walks. The ashes will be scattered in the bush in the surrounding area. The walk will also go past Stan's Seat, a new $6500 installation paid for by family and friends to support the relocation of threatened species in the Wildlife Sanctuary. This work was much admired by Stan. All CBC members and friends of Stan are warmly invited to participate, and join "the gang" for an early lunch at the Arboretum.
