The walk is in the eastern part of the Byadbo Wilderness. This part of the KNP is unburnt and open and is rarely visited by the CBC. Byadbo is in a rain shadow and the vegetation is consequently quite open. The proposed walk generally avoids fire trails. On Friday we will start from Merambago Trail, cross a ridge to Byadbo Creek and follow this upstream before selecting a campsite and doing a side trip to Byadbo trig. On Saturday we will climb Byadbo Mountain and then use Long Corner Creek to get to Bear Gap. From Bear Gap we will head NE to the Snowy River. Sunday we will walk up the Snowy River to Byadbo Creek stopping to enjoy the reputedly warm waters of the Snowy River as well as admire the Snowy River Falls. Monday we will go up Byadbo Creek with a possible side trip to Black Jack Mountain before heading back to the cars.
