E-M Wednesday Walk #2 (CBC): Well-known and not so well-known trails at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve

3 short walks in the TNR valley.

Walk 1 – From Flints picnic area (toilet), walk a loop that passes Cinerea Cottage, Hanging Rock, the Ashbrook Trail, Koala Enclosure (toilet nearby) and Tangos Track. Follow Man on Horse Trail to Rock Valley Homestead (toilet) and back to Flints. Dry feet crossings of Tidbinbilla River, Ashbrook Creek. Around 12km and 380vm climb.

Walk 2 – From Mountain Creek car park, walk the Cascade and Lyrebird Trails. We’ll hear the story of the Tidbinbilla Warning Siren, visit the huge tree fern and cascade on the Cascade Trail, and detour off the Lyrebird Trail to the bottom of the Snowy Corner route up to the crest of the Tidbinbilla Range. Around 3km and 170vm climb.

Walk 3 – From Dalsetta carpark (toilet), walk the Turkey Hill track. Stunning views to the Tidbinbilla Range. Around 0.7km and 25m climb.

I’ll have that with the lot: Around 16km and 575vm. A little more than Easy-Medium; you decide how much you’d like to do.

MEET: Lanyon Marketplace carpark, up from Maccas at 8am. Shared transport $20 per vehicle. If you'd prefer flexibility, 8.30am at Flints in TNR.
