DESCRIPTION:**No bookings required for joint club Wednesday Walks** Lead
 er: Henry G. for BBC This walk loops around Gorilla Rock to include some
  rock platforms and the slabs approaching Booroomba Rocks. Starting from
  Honeysuckle Ck campground we trundle along the track to Booroomba Rocks
  for about 1.5km. After a creek crossing, we leave the track to travel g
 enerally north-west up to a ridge and down the other side to reach some 
 rock platforms with a great view of the valley to the west of Gorilla Ro
 ck and the rock itself. We then double back and bash our way up to Goril
 la Rock through some thicker scrub. After a well-earned break and explor
 ation of Gorilla Rock, our route will be generally north-east to reach t
 he base of the large rock slabs that buttress Booroomba Rocks. We will s
 cramble up these slabs for dress-circle views of the entire valley and b
 eyond. Finally, we will wend our way back to the Honeysuckle Ck track th
 rough some untamed but beautiful bushland. This walk will be about 9.5km
  with the majority being off-track and with some rock scrambling. Total 
 climbing will be about 450vm and I expect the entire walk will take us a
 bout 6.5 hours including stops. Although much of the bush is reasonably 
 open, gaiters and eye protection are recommended as well as sun protecti
 on and sufficient water for a day out in the bush. Grading: BBC 9.5, CBC
  Medium/Rough, NPA 1CDE Weather: As of Friday, the weather forecast for 
 Canberra for Wednesday is partly cloudy, 5°-18° degrees. Map: Corin Da
 m. Meet at Lanyon Marketplace, behind MacDonalds, at 8.35am for an 8:45a
