It begi ns at the start of the Tong’s Hole Track making its way south down to the Molonglo River. From here we contour following the course of the riv er while intermittently joining the Aprasia Link and Coppins Trail. We w ill explore various rocky headlands, gorges and lookout and river access points during our walk and will be returning to the starting point. The landscape is generally undulating with some rocky/grassy slopes/surface s that may be slippery and/or unstable under foot. Gaiters a must to pro tect legs and walking pole(s) might be useful. Hike fit: The linear dist ance of 13 km with an adjustment for elevation gain of 500m makes this e quivalent to a 18km hike. Given the nature of the terrain (surface, vege tation, steepness) and the length/elevation gain/loss the hike is likely to be moderately strenuous, take approximately 5.5 to 6.0hrs to complet e and best suited for walkers with a moderate to good level of fitness, whom are interested in nature connection, are comfortable off track and in the past month completed successfully at least one hike of 12km+ dist ance. Nature Connection: This walk intentionally balances social interac tion with brief, guided periods of quiet, attentive walking and a brief sit spot to support deeper engagement with the landscape.
