Medium/Hard Wednesday Walk 9 Sep 26 - Gigerline Nature Reserve

A circuit of the southern end of the Gigerline Nature Reserve. We start from Angle Crossing road, head north through open forests, grasslands and cross some hills for views. We then scramble along a rocky section of Guises Ck, up some more hills, then back down to the lower section of Guises Ck, and clamber down a rocky gorge to the Murrumbidgee River. Then some river bank walking south along the river, then climb a steep spur back to the cars. Note that the rocky and gorge sections will be wet and slippery in places as there is flowing water in the system. Some rock scrambling, possibility of wet feet, and plenty of spiky scrub and blackberries to contend with around the creeks and river. Secateurs will be handy.

Grading: CBC – Medium/Rough; BBC – 8 Medium; NPA – 2 B/C/D/E
Terrain: mostly open forest, grasslands, some scrub spiky bushes and blackberries around creek and river, rock scrambling, wet areas.

Meet: Calwell Shopping Centre, Calwell Park and Ride carpark opposite Eastlake Calwell Club, departure by 0830am
Transport: 40km return, $18 per vehicle or $4.50 each (4 per vehicle)
