Easy-Medium Wednesday Walk #1, 2 Sept, Cuumbeun Nature Reserve (BBC)
Wed 02nd Sep 2026
Bookings available to active members only.
No bookings required for joint club Wednesday Walks
Leader: Kathy Handel ph 0447 289 638, khandel@bigpond.net.au
Starting at a gate 1km along Captains Flat Rd, we do the Link Trail (fire trail) and then continue onto a beautiful little track winding downhill through semi-open forest with wildflowers and some views of Queanbeyan and the hills of Canberra. Then it’s uphill on fire trail to Faunce Trig and return on the hilly Queanbeyan River Trail, stopping for lunch by a dam.
The terrain is mostly fire trail, with one section of single-file track. Some areas are steep and rough and there are a few shallow creek crossings with stepping stones, so poles are recommended.
