Leader: Philip G. for BBC

From Apollo Road, near the Honeysuckle Creek tracking station site, climb steeply south-east to Apollo Rock where there’s a short, interesting scramble to the top for spectacular views of the surroundings. Then walk south-west along the ridge over a couple of rocky knolls, turn south and descend to a clearing then head roughly north to the Sundial Rock saddle from where we return to the cars on a combination of foot pad and track. Mostly off-track, with thick scrub and boulders to negotiate. About 9 km and a climb of 600 m. Although the walk is short it will take about 7 hours. Suitable for fit and experienced off-track walkers.

Meet: Lanyon Market Place car park in time to leave by 8 am
Map: Corin Dam 1:25,000
Drive and cost: 72 km, $10 per person
Weather as of Saturday, for Canberra on Wednesday: 5 to 17 degrees, cloudy with a slight chance of a shower.
Grading 11 (BBC), MR (CBC), 1D/E (NPA)

Those doing their first Wednesday Walk, and those who are not members of the CBC, BBC or NPA, must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk. You can send a message to the owner of this Bilby activity
