A relaxed, 2-day trip to Bimberi Peak. Long drive, short-ish walks. Drive via Adaminaby, Tantangera Rd and Pockets Saddle Rd to the track head at Gurrangorambla Creek. Walk N and E for 3.5km via Pocket Saddle Rd and Murray Gap FT to set up camp at Oldfields Hut (toilet). With day packs, walk the 10.5km Aqueduct Track, visiting the aqueduct inlet on the Goodradigbee River, great views to cascades on the river, and the aqueduct outlet on the Corrango Plain. Around 14km and 600vm of climb.
On Sunday, walk with day packs via Murray Gap FT and footpad climb to Bimberi Peak. You’ll be the top dog in the ACT. Unforgettable views, Return to Oldfields Hut, pack up and walk out for the long drive home. Around 19km and 865vm of climb.
