Looping in a figure 8 formation, we will explore Mt Majura Nature Reserve and dip our toes into Ainslie Nature Reserve. This walk involves a combination of off-track (approx. 60%) and on-track walking, along with a few step sections, especially at the beginning of the walk, as we ascend off-track approaching Majura's summit from the northern end through dry open woodlands, Casuarina's and Currawong trees. Good level of effort is required on the ascent. We have a breathier, then take a short detour from descending the main summit trail to a lovely viewpoint on the western side, Reconnect with the main summit fire trail and head towards the lower dams near Blue Metal Road. Then, head off track towards Old Tsr Track, crossing into Mt Ainslie Nature Reserve and continue off-track looping between Old Tsr Track and Hancocks Road, before another ascent to a small knoll close to West 132 KVA track. Then, loop back to our starting point via Old Tsr Track and a short descent through Casuarina trees to join a lower foot pad running parallel to the power lines track. Approx 5 1/2 hours.
