Easy/Medium Wed Walk #1, 15 July, North Urialla Track Googong Foreshores area (BBC)
Leader: Peter Wellman (6288 5985).
This walk is through fire trails with reasonable grades, mainly through open peppermint Eucalyptus forest. From the London Bridge carpark we walk 1 km east on the Queanbeyan River Walk, almost to the Queanbeyan River, then gently climb up the North Urialla Track. We return on the South Trail and the Boundary Fire Trail. Almost all on fire trails. A pleasant forested walk, very suitable for winter. We will have to climb a few gates/fences.
Distance 14 km, Total climb: 450 m. Map: Captains Flat. Cars: 23 km ($7).
Grade CBC Medium/Easy, BBC 9
Canberra forecast is for no precipitation.
Meet at Queanbeyan Swimming Pool car park, Cambell Street. Leaving at 8:30.
Those doing their first Wednesday Walk, and those who are not members of the CBC, BBC or NPA, must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
