Easy/Medium Walk #2, Weds 15 July, Coolemon Ridge, McQuoid’s Hill and Mt Arawang (BBC)
Leader: Ian Moorcroft (0434978755), Ian_moorcroft@hotmail.com
A mostly easy meander around Coolemon Ridge, McQuoid’s Hill and Mt Arawang mainly along fire and designated walking trails with some steep ascents.
There are excellent views of large parts of the Canberra region along the walk.
Starting at the parking lot on Kathner Street we will head south on the Coolemon Ridge Bicentennial National Trail, before turning off in the direction of McQuoid’s Hill, which we will climb. After descending McQuoid’s Hill we skirt around the edges of suburbia before starting our climb up Mt Arawang. From Mt Arawang we will take a number of trails along the ridge past Mt Coolemon to the cars.
I expect we will finish early in the afternoon.
