Parking on Captains Flat Rd we explore the eastern side of the reserve in attractive open woodland. After a scrubby crossing of Scabbing Flat Creek we have morning tea at a very attractive high spot with sweeping views to the south and west. Cuumbeun nature reserve is a delightful and under-appreciated area of bushland within easy reach of Canberra
