It runs between th e Obelisk in Macquarie Place in Sydney to Queens Wharf in Bicentennial P ark in Newcastle passing through lots of native bushland between the two cities. Many walkers take about 2 weeks to complete this epic walk. I†™d like to spend a weekend to explore two of the most scenic sections in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park which run from Berowra to Brooklyn. The format for the weekend I propose is as follows:- Friday night stay at t he NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Resort at Umima Beach (next to Woy Woy). Lot s of camping and cabin options to choose from…..or you can choose to s tay anywhere in the Umima Beach or Woy Woy areas. Saturday: Catch the tr ain from Woy Woy to Berowra Station. Walk the section from Berowra Stati on to the Berowra Waters Ferry crossing, for fun we’ll take the short ferry ride across to Berowra Waters for lunch, then back again after lun ch, then continue walking onto Cowan Station. Walking distance is about 13kms for Saturday. Catch the train from Cowan Station back to Woy Woy. Sunday: Check out of the Umima Beach van park in the morning. Drive our cars to Brooklyn Station and park them there. Catch the train from Brook lyn to Cowan. Walk from Cowan to Brooklyn Station and finish by mid afte rnoon Sunday. Walking distance is about 13.5 kms. These two days are des cribed as perhaps some of the most scenic walking days on the Great Nort h Walk with wonderful vantage points over the Hawkesbury River system, w ell formed trails, creeks, waterfalls and the unspoilt bush of Ku-ring-a i Chase National Park. Suitable for Medium grade walkers. There is a tot al of approximately 500 metres of ascent and descent on each day. Umima Beach is about a 4 hour drive from Canberra.
