The walk involves varied ter rain and is mostly off-trail, utilizing fire trails, bush tracks, and fo otpads through open grassy woodlands and light-to-moderate scrub. The ro ute is undulating with at times steep ascents and descents over rocky or grassy slopes that can be slippery and unstable underfoot; consequently , walking poles are recommended and gaiters or long pants are mandatory for leg protection. The linear distance of approximately 12.7 km, combin ed with an elevation gain of 480m, makes this physical effort equivalent to a 17.5 km on-track walk. Given the hikes distance, elevation profile and the nature of the terrain (surface, vegetation, steepness) the hike is likely to be challenging and is expected to take 4.5-5.0hrs to compl ete at a steady pace. It is best suited for walkers who are comfortable off-track, possess a moderate-to-good level of fitness, and have success fully completed at least one hike of a similar nature within the past 3 months. Nature Connection: This walk intentionally balances social walki ng with short, clearly defined periods of quiet, attentive mindful walki ng and a brief sit spot to foster a more immersive experience of and a d eeper engagement with the landscape. Participants should be comfortable with occasional silence and willing to engage respectfully with this rhy thm of walking. Conversation is warmly welcomed at all other times.
