DESCRIPTION:This walks is designed to introduce families with kids aged 
 6 and upwards to bush-camping, as distinct from camping near a car, in a
  beautiful old growth forest. We start with a 3 km walk, on- and off-tra
 ck, into a rarely-visited camping spot in a large forest glade at the he
 ad of a creek. On the way we'll explore a granite outcrop with a view an
 d a bit of optional rock scrambling. The off track walking will involve 
 some steep, loose slopes, patches of scrub, and clambering over logs. Af
 ter setting up camp, there is an optional off-track afternoon walk of ab
 out 1.5 km return to the top of a nearby hill with some more granite roc
 ks. All your gear will need to fit into your back-pack, so that means li
 ght-weight tents and small stoves, and means no eskies or tents of a siz
 e you an stand up in. We will have a small after-dinner fire, for toasti
 ng marshmallows. On the second day we will walk out by a shorter route, 
 and get to the cars before lunch time.
