Less than 2 hours from Canberra, the Budawangs have spectacular rock formations and views and are a fantastic overnight walk. And I accept the solstice is the 21st, so technically we are not overnighting on the solstice, but we will be there for the solstice

We will undertake a two day walk starting from the Wog Wog camping area, walking to the Corang river, then following the Corang River and Canowie Brook to join onto the Scenic Rim track. With time permitting (shortest day and all), we will follow through to Burrumbeet Brook camping caves.

Camping overnight, on day two, we will retrace our steps to Canowie Brook before climbing up (there is a bit of a steep rock scramble for five minutes) to Corang Arch and Corang Peak and then heading back to the cars at Wog Wog.

You are welcome to bring younger walkers, you will just need to sign an acknowledgement of risks before we start. Just reach out when you book yourself in and I will get them registered.

You will need to be fit, well prepared and had previous overnight bushwalking experience.

Sunrise about 7.10 am - Sun set around 4.55 pm and a half moon setting around 11.42 pm.
