Pyramid Hill and Gibraltar Slabs

This off-track walk should hopefully find some patches of winter sun. We start by bashing our way up to the Tidbinbilla ridge from Corin Rd to a north-facing hill immediately to the south of Stantons Gap. We then loop back northwards to reach Stantons Gap itself and then clamber our way directly up Pyramid Hill on a steep, boulder-strewn slope that will be in the shade and could be wet and icy. After views from the top of Pyramid Hill, we journey down a small track to Devils Gap and then northwards through relatively open scrubland and a fire trail to reach a large rock platform overlooking Tidbinbilla valley that I call "Gibraltar Slabs". Our return will traverse a disused firetrail down towards Corin Road. Gloves, gaiters, water and eye protection are recommended. Please note that this walk will be held together with the Brindabella Bushwalking Club. In the spirit of BBC walks, it is the responsibility of participants to determine whether they can complete the walk in a timely fashion. So just enroll if you are sure you can make the walk and you will be accepted. But do feel welcome to reach out to the leader if you are at all uncertain.

Walking time of about 6 hours for a distance of 7.0 km with an elevation gain of 510 m. Cars: 52 km (suggested $7 pp with tips welcome) Map: Tidbinbilla. Meet at Kambah Shops at 8:50 to leave by 9am.
