Trigs and Nature Reserves #7 – Stranger trig and Tuggeranong Hill NR
Mon 08th Jun 2026
Are you a list ticker? I am! Our Parks and Conservation Service list 66 trigs on public land in the ACT and 39 Nature Reserves in the Canberra Nature Park. Most are quite easily accessed. Over the next several months I will plan and lead a number of trips to these locations for our mutual list ticking enjoyment. I’ll even keep our records. Handsomely illuminated (digital) certificates will be issued at the end of the series 😂.
This hike is a short public holiday morning jaunt. You’ll be home for a late lunch. We’ll walk fire trails and footpads to enjoy the view from Tuggeranong Hill, then descend to the NW through open going. Under Tharwa Dr and Woodcock Dr via the urban fringe, then up through woodland to Stranger trig. Our return will be a different route through suburban waterways and around the western flank of Tuggers Hill. Around 10km and 360vm climb.
